Terms & Conditions
The terms that apply when you use our website, request a quote, or have a device repaired or serviced by us.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of techgatecomputers.ca and the repair, service, and sales provided by Tech Gate Computers & Mobile Repair Services Inc. (“TechGate Computers,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), located at 2055 Wyandotte Street West, Windsor, Ontario N9B 1J8. By using our website or authorizing us to service a device, you agree to these Terms.
1. Our services
We provide diagnostics, repair, upgrade, and data services for computers, laptops, Macs, phones, tablets, and game consoles, together with custom PC builds and the sale of related parts and accessories.
2. Estimates, diagnostics & approval
We offer free diagnostics on most devices. We provide an estimate before beginning any billable work and will not perform chargeable repairs without your approval. Estimates are based on the information available at the time and may change if additional faults are found — we will contact you for approval before exceeding an approved estimate.
Our no-fix, no-fee policy means that if we are unable to complete an approved repair, you will not be charged for that repair. Special-order or custom parts already purchased on your behalf may be non-refundable.
3. Authorization to service your device
By leaving a device with us, you confirm that you are the owner or are authorized to approve service on it, and you authorize us to carry out the diagnostics and repairs you approve — including powering on the device, running tests, and, where necessary, installing or updating software.
4. Data, backups & your device
You are responsible for backing up your data before service. While we take care with every device, repairs carry an inherent risk of data loss, and we are not responsible for any loss, corruption, or disclosure of data. Where you request data-recovery or data-transfer services, results cannot be guaranteed. We access only the data necessary to diagnose and complete the work you approve and treat it as confidential — see our Privacy Policy. We will not service devices for unlawful purposes and may decline any device we reasonably believe to be stolen or to contain unlawful content.
5. Parts & warranty
Unless stated otherwise in writing, repairs are covered by a 90-day limited warranty on the specific part replaced and the labour performed. The warranty does not cover new or unrelated faults, physical or liquid damage, misuse, tampering, or work performed by others after our service. We use a mix of OEM and high-quality aftermarket parts and will tell you which applies on request.
6. Payment
Payment is due in full when the repair is completed and before the device is returned, unless agreed otherwise. A deposit may be required for special-order parts.
7. Turnaround times
Any timeframe we give is an estimate only and is not guaranteed, as parts availability and fault complexity can affect timing.
8. Uncollected devices
Please collect your device promptly after we notify you that it is ready. Devices left uncollected for more than 60 days after we notify you may, to the extent permitted by Ontario’s Repair and Storage Liens Act and other applicable law, be sold or recycled to recover unpaid charges and storage costs. Storage fees may apply.
9. Products, returns & refunds
Accessories and parts sold by us may be returned within 14 days in unused, resalable condition with proof of purchase, except for special-order items and consumables. Defective products are handled under the manufacturer’s warranty or applicable consumer-protection law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to a service or product is limited to the amount you paid for that service or product. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost data, profits, or downtime. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act that cannot legally be waived.
11. Website use & intellectual property
The content on this website is owned by or licensed to us and may not be copied or reused without permission. You agree not to misuse the site or submit false information through our forms.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on this page is the current one, and the effective date above shows when it last changed.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute.
